Beverly Vance, a retired public school teacher and administrator, created Sew So Simply in order to combine her two passions: sewing and teaching. She believes that just about anyone can learn to sew, and with a little time, guidance, and persistence, come to enjoy this fun and practical art form as much as she does!
Beverly has been sewing her entire life. She was inspired as a child by watching her grandmother, a seamstress, who could make “just about anything” with a needle and thread. She has spent years honing her skills through practice and training with a wide variety of leaders in the sewing industry. Her training includes becoming credentialed as a Palmer/Pletsch Certified Sewing Instructor.
Sew So Simply classes are based on the principle that mastering the basics first will provide you with an excellent foundation for any kind of sewing project you may wish to do in the future. Whether your interests lie in making apparel, home decor, sewing bags and other accessories, or quilting, Sew So Simply’s beginner courses will get you off to a great start!
Class sizes are kept small (3-5) so that students can receive as much individual attention as they need to guide them through the learning process. Students can expect to receive clear, easy to follow instruction that builds their skill level quickly, and helps guarantee a successful and satisfying introduction to sewing.
